It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. - Proverbs 25:2

Behold, I come quickly: blessed [is] he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Revelation 22:7
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams - Acts 2:17 & Joel 2:28
Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings I Thessalonians 5:19-20
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Revelation 19:10

Intro

[Yet] first [you must] understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is [a matter] of any personal or private or special interpretation (loosening, solving). 2 Peter 1:20
Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: [He whose gift is] prophecy, [let him prophesy] according to the proportion of his faith Romans 12:6
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. Corinthians 12:7-10

Bible prophecy is history written in advance. The Bible boldly predicts the future with authority and accuracy because it is true. No other religion can claim this. Understanding why Bible prophecy exists in the first place is very important because about one third of the Bible is prophecy. According to a variety of sources that I have researched the number of prophecies in the Bible scriptures ranges from about 2000 to 10,000. It depends on how many prophecies one may count that are contained in one single scripture. Regardless of the number the important thing is the fact that fulfillment of the prophecies has been occurring down to the last detail. Including the prophecies of the re-establishment of the state of Israel which occured in 1948; (Isaiah 66:7-8; Zechariah 12:1-6; and Matthew 24:32-35). The re-occupation of Jerusalem in 1967; (Zechariah 12:2-6) and the birth of our Lord and Messiah Jesus Christ who was born in Bethlehem; (Micah 5:2). Jesus also tells us in the Olivet Discourse that "this generation" will not pass before His second coming. In the Bible the fig tree represents Israel. "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near--at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place." (Matthew 24: 32-34)

The end of the age prophecies are now unfolding at an alarming rate! It is as if the newspaper headlines are the pages of the Bible being torn out. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ as the Messiah or you do not believe the "end of time" prophecies are unfolding then my hope is that this page will give you some things to think about! The Bible tells us in Revelation 19:10 "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

Please be sure to scroll to the bottom of this page and read each section. There is some very important information here you will want to know because fulfillment of Bible prophecy is occurring and it will effect everyone on the planet! God wants us to be informed about His plan for us. He also warns us of things to come so we can prepare ourselves spiritually, mentally and physically.

The reason Bible prophecies are not spelled out in plain terms is due to several factors. One being that they were written in a time when what the prophets saw in visions and dreams did not look familiar. Therefore they had to try and describe things unknown to them. More importantly the messages from Jesus about these times are for His servants and not meant for anyone else. They are especially not meant for Satan to understand. God purposefully hid the then future events in symbolic form and each generation would be able to interpret the meanings based on revelation through the Holy Spirit and historical and current event context. Here is a prophecy about that:

"Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." (Daniel 12:10 KJV)
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive Matthew 13:10-14

God also sends His prophets to us in order to instruct and minister. God wants us to listen to His true prophets. He also requires us to read the Bible, adhere to His laws, and repent because we have all sinned. God wants us to study the scriptures and seek to decipher the prophecies. We are meant to know these things!!

God tells us in Proverbs 25:2
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter."
"But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober." (I Thessalonians 4-6 KJV)

Most church pastors do not teach about Bible prophecy. Therefore if you want to learn the meanings you have to go else where. On this page I will give you some resources for studying and understanding Bible prophecy and why it is so important. Please seek to know what is really going on because you will be affected by these unfolding events. Jesus warned us with prophecy so we would know what is happening! "...When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near." (Luke 21:31)

The Lord said in Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:"

How Do You Interpret Bible Scripture and Prophecy

"And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." 2 Peter 1:18-20

Reading and understanding Bible prophecy can be very challenging. Referring to other sources for interpretation is helpful but be careful because I have noticed that many people who interpret and teach Bible prophecy apply different methods of interpretation. Some use the very literal interpretation which is not appropriate in all cases.

We are told clearly in 1 Corinthians 2:14
"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

I understand this to mean that Bible scripture is not understood if you are not discerning with the power of the Holy Spirit AND that many scriptures have distinct spiritual meaning.

We are also told in Daniel 12:9 that many prophecies are "sealed until the time of the end". Therefore we will not know the meaning until an appointed time {which I believe is NOW!}

I'll let you in for a very important lesson. The method that God intended for us to interpret Bible scripture is with Bible scripture. If you search the scriptures you will find confirmation of their meanings by using other scriptures somewhere else in the Bible. It is helpful to use a Bible that lists the cross references for you under each scripture.

Another helpful method of studying scripture and understanding the meaning of a particular word or verse is to do a search for that word in a Bible search web site: Blue Letter Bible.com

Be sure to look at the scriptures in different Bible versions because the meaning can change drastically. More advanced students of scripture study the meaning of words in the Greek and Hebrew languages because our Bible has been interpreted from Greek and Hebrew and the conotation of words from these languages to English does vary.

Another way to get help with interpretation and meaning of scriptures is to listen to pod casts, watch videos and read material from Bible prophecy experts and teachers. I have my favorites but I do not follow any one teacher as the sole expert and final word on prophecy.

Be careful! There are a lot of questionable people out there who claim to be "experts". I am less likely to listen to teachers who teach the doctrine of "pre-tribulation" rapture. No where in the Bible does it say the Church of Christ will be removed before the last trumpet which is just prior to the return of Jesus. (Matthew 24:30-31, 1 Corinthians 15:52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 10:7, Revelation 11:15)

Many of these so called prophecy teachers and experts are in fact incorrect about their interpretations of Bible prophecies and scripture.

It is wise to always read what the Bible says and trust what God says above all. Believe God FIRST above what man says! That is why it is very important to pray for "wisdom and discernment" from the Holy Spirit of God. If you continually pray for God to fill you with the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom, then you will be able to recognize the truth when you hear it, see it and read it. In fact, God gives us all the ability to have deep spiritual knowledge and wisdom through obediance, prayer and fasting. You will get the answers directly from God Himself!

God tells us in Jeremiah 33:3

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

How important are prophecies from the Bible? God tells us in Revelation 19:10

"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

The Use of Cross-References

One of the fundamental principles of Protestant biblical interpretation is that "Scripture is its own best interpreter." Luther expressed this principle with the words, Scriptura sui ipsius interpres ("Scripture is its own expositor"), and it was summed up by the authors of the Westminster Confession thus: "The infallible rule of interpretation of Scripture is the Scripture itself: and therefore, when there is a question about the true and full sense of any Scripture ... it must be searched and known by other places that speak more clearly." [3]

Christian eschatology

Summary of Christian eschatological differences

  • Preterism: Preterism, a strictly Jesuit doctrine created by Spanish Jesuit Luis de Alcazar (1554-1613). Preterism destroys the use of the Book of Revelation by teaching all is past, all is fulfilled—really crazy stuff! [4])
  • Amillennialism:Amillennialism views the millennium as a symbol of the present age where the Church carries on Christ's work and the binding of Satan was accomplished by Jesus in the past. [5]
  • Premillennialism
  • Dispensationalism: Dispensationalism teaches that Christians should not expect spiritual good from earthly governments, and should expect social conditions to decline as the end times draw nearer. Dispensationalist readings of prophecies often teach that the Antichrist will appear to the world as a peacemaker. This makes some dispensationalists suspicious of all forms of power, religious and secular, and especially of human attempts to form international organizations for peace, such as the United Nations. Almost all dispensationalists reject the idea that a lasting peace can be attained by human effort in the Middle East, and believe instead that "wars and rumors of wars" (cf. Matt 24:6) will increase as the end times approach. Dispensationalist beliefs often underlie the religious and political movement of Christian Zionism. Some dispensationalists teach that churches that do not insist on Biblical literalism as they deem appropriate are in fact part of the Great Apostasy. This casts suspicion on attempts to create church organizations that cross denominational boundaries such as the World Council of Churches. (See also ecumenism.) [6]
  • Rapture: The Rapture or "millions missing" fable was invented by 2 Jesuits and is held by most "Protestants" today....It ranks right up there with the fantasy of the moving earth and evolution.... No matter how bizarre the believe system is, if it will undermine the Reformation, the Jesuits will embrace it with all the enthusiasm of a fanatic.[7]. The authors were: Francisco Ribera (1537–1591) and Robert Bellarmine (1542–1621)
  • Postmillennialism: Postmillennialism views the millennium as a future period during which the gospel message will eliminate evil from the world and Christ will rule spiritually for a thousand years before before the Second Coming. [8]

Tribulation

Here is a list of events mentioned in the book of Revelation , some of which (usually attributed to the seven trumpets) occur during the Great Tribulation period. The following chronological order of end time events is presented here as seen in the book of Revelation, followed by a quick description of the 21 judgments (seals, trumpets, and bowls). The interpretation given is from the pre-tribulationist and literalist view. Of course, opinions among Christians differ:

  • 9. Death and Resurrection of the Two Witnesses Revelation 11
  • 10. Destruction of the One World Church.

Prophecies

"In order to study the Prophecies of the Bible, one must not stop at one book (Revelation), as around 27% of the Bible are prophecies, most of them are about Jesus Christ 1st coming. The rest are prophecies regarding the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ" - Dave Hunt in the video Megiddo I: The March to Armageddon.
  • List of artifacts significant to the Bible
  • Fulfilled Prophecy: Evidence for the Reliability of the Bible
    • Genesis 3:15
      • And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
        • The first word of prophecy in Gen ch 3 v 15 was to Satan. One born of woman would come to crush Satan’s head and remove his authority. That means that He would destroy his authority. A person without a head has no authority. One day in the future Satan’s authority would be crushed by Jesus. In the meantime Satan would bruise the heel of man and cause a lot of damage to mankind but ultimately Jesus would take authority from Satan. God had an answer to the problem of the human race. The written Word was to give man understanding of the things of God despite man’s sin. If man walks within the Word of God he will find that God is his healer. Exodus ch 15 v 26 says that God is man’s healer but the promise is conditional on keeping the commands of God in their entirety. A man can live in safety within the Ten Commandments. They are liberating limits. The Commandments show a man his sin and the need for a saviour. [14]
  • Biblical Prophecies that have been fulfilled
    • Bible prophecies fulfilled
      • By Lord Jesus Christ Himself
        • The Prime Example of reading and thus understanding the prophecies of the Holy Scriptures is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. He is the Word of God in the flesh expounding the Word of God written in the Hebrew Tenakh: both are inseparable; both are eternal. He NEVER “spiritualized” any verse, i.e., never redefined a word or phrase alien to its common meaning, and He never arrived at any conclusion other than a LITERAL conclusion when he taught and expounded the Scriptures. For example, when Christ came to Nazareth to teach in its synagogue, according to Luke 4:17-19 he read from Isaiah 61:1 and the first half of verse 2. Intriguingly, he stopped reading in the middle of Isaiah 61:2, closed the scroll and sat down. As all eyes were fastened upon him, Christ then stated “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears” (Luke 4:21). Obviously, he meant the scripture he had read at that moment had been LITERALLY fulfilled by Himself. The succeeding verses would be LITERALLY fulfilled at a later date (Isaiah 61:2b-11)—at his Second Coming. As an aside, by reading these prophecies LITERALLY, we have established the fact of the existence of gaps of time between certain prophetic verses of Holy Writ. [15]
      • Palm Sunday
        • Jesus of Nazareth Declares Himself Messiah, "Palm Sunday," Jerusalem, 32 AD Another example of Christ’s LITERAL reading of the Scriptures is found in his LITERAL fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9. In Luke 19:28-39 the Lord Jesus instructs his disciples to enter a village, find a tied-up donkey’s colt, tell the owners the Lord have need of him, and bring the colt to Him. Christ then mounts the colt and rides it into Jerusalem formally declaring Himself to be Messiah, King of Israel—which day in world history has been termed “Palm Sunday.” At no time prior to this day had Jesus of Nazareth declared Himself Messiah to national Israel—including the day he was baptized by the Prophet John (Matthew 3:13-17). Thus, this notable act on this particular day LITERALLY fulfilled Zechariah 9:9. Indeed, Jerusalem’s King entered into her riding upon a colt, the foal of an ass! Zechariah 9:10 would be fulfilled on a future day—once again, at His Second Coming after which His physical, visible dominion would be “to the ends of the earth!” Again, by a LITERAL reading of the Scripture, we have established there must be gaps of time between certain prophetic verses, in this case, a nearly 2000-year gap of time between verses 9 and 10. [16]
      • Changing times and laws
        • And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws : and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Daniel 7:25
          • -- Changing times --
            • Changing times refer to the transfer of the original day of worship sabbath from Saturday to Sunday [17]
              • Cardinal Gibbons affirmed Sunday Sabbath as a sign of the Roman Catholic Church's sufficiency as guide: "Third–A rule of faith, or a competent guide to heaven, must be able to instruct in all the truths necessary for salvation. Now the Scriptures alone do not contain all the truths which a Christian is bound to believe, nor do they explicitly enjoin all the duties which he is obliged to practice. Not to mention other examples, is not every Christian obliged to sanctify Sunday and to abstain on that day from unnecessary servile work? Is not the observance of this law among the most prominent of our sacred duties? But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify. The Catholic Church correctly teaches that our Lord and His Apostles inculcated certain important duties of religion which are not recorded by the inspired writers. (Sabbath in Christianity)
          • -- And laws --
            • Changing laws refer to the changing of the 10 commandments in order to allow idolatry [18]
              • Did you know that the Roman Catholic Church have their own version of the Ten Commandments, and not only changed the fourth Commandment, which is why most Churches now worship on Sunday, but they also deleted the second Commandment on idolatry? For detailed information see the Roman Catholic Version of the Ten Commandments. Can man change the Ten Commandments of God that define what sin is? (1 John 3:4) Not a chance! If God really allowed this, then man could abolish all the Ten Commandments and then we would have no need for a Saviour! Despite this, many Roman Catholics are very quick to tell us that their Church does have the authority to change the law of God and so their change of the Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday was allowed. Note the following blasphemous quote from the Catholic Church that makes God obsolete. [19]
              • “The Pope is of great authority and power, that he is able to modify, declare, or interpret even divine laws. The Pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man, but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth...” — Lucius Ferraris, in “Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica, Juridica, Moralis, Theologica, Ascetica, Polemica, Rubristica, Historica”, Volume V, article on “Papa, Article II”, titled “Concerning the extent of Papal dignity, authority, or dominion and infallibility”, #30, published in Petit-Montrouge (Paris) by J. P. Migne, 1858 edition. [20]

Rapture or Tribulations?

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." - 1 Corinthians 15:52
Main Articles: The Secret Rapture & Left Behind by the Jesuits

Jesus is coming as a thief in the night

  • One of the main concept and deception to Christians, is that most of them believe the Rapture (Jesus taking his church) will happen before/during the tribulations, and before the man of sin is revealed, and that they avoid any kind of tribulations. Those who defend this thesis do it based on mostly on the idea that "Jesus is coming as a thief in the night".

Why is this not true?

  • The pretribulationist (those who belive Jesus is coming before the tribulations) says that the day of the Lord immediately follows the rapture, and as a result they see the entire seventieth week as the day of the Lord or the wrath of God. And yet they see the first half of the tribulation as a time of peace when a great revival takes place. In the Thessalonian passage it clearly states in verse 3 that "destruction will come upon them suddenly." Another passage that confirms this is 2 Peter 3:10, "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up." It is clear that the question to be answered is: (Question:) who is Christ coming to as a thief? In 1 Thessalonians 5:4 Paul writes, "But you brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief." It is clear in the Revelation passage that the warning (Answer:) is to those who are asleep. In both cases the picture is the same- for the one who is not awake (unbelievers) the coming will be like a thief; however, for the one that is awake (believers), the coming will not be like a thief. [24]

Paul, wrote that, “the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night” when reminding the Thessalonians of his previous instructions to them about the Second Coming. Here is what Paul wrote. [25]

"Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people (unbelievers) are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they (unbelievers) will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:1-5)."
  • When Paul says, “the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night,” notice that he is referring to “people,” “them,” and “they,” Paul is making a distinction between the believers and the unbelievers. Consider what Paul says to the believers in verse four - “But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.” He is telling them that the Day of the Lord will not surprise the believers, because they know what will happen first. On the other hand, Christ’s return on the Day of the Lord will surprise the unbelieving world.

Again, in Revelation, Jesus reminds and warns His followers that if they do not stay awake, His return will surprise them like a thief. [26]

"Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you (Revelation 3:3).
"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed" (Revelation 16:15)
  • Believers will be aware of the general time of Christ’s return but unbelievers will be caught off guard when Jesus Christ returns to earth “like a thief in the night.” Therefore, don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, many signs will occur before Jesus Christ returns to gather up His Church.

Olivet discourse

But of that day or that hour not a [single] person knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on your guard [constantly alert], and watch [a]and pray; for you do not know when the time will come."

Jesus, in the Olivet discourse, tells us to watch for the signs and uses the fig tree as an example. In Matthew 24:32-33 He says, "Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; even so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door." He goes on in verse 36 to tell us that we do not know the day or the hour, but as Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:1, we do know the times and the seasons. [27]

Christians will be Persecuted

Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:11
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Revelation 12:12-13
  • “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit." Mark 13:9-11
  • “But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict." Luke 21:12-15
  • "But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." Matthew 10:17-20

Christians will be Martyrs

  • And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. Daniel 8:23-24
  • In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world John 16:33
  • And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. Mark 13:20
  • Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Matt. 24:9
  • "And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death." Matthew 10:21
  • "You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me." Luke 21:16
  • "They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." John 16:2
  • "And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held" Revelation 6:9
  • "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Revelation 13:7
  • And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Revelation 20:4

The gathering

"But relative to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and our gathering together to [meet] Him, we beg you, brethren, Not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] arrived and is here. Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the [a]apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great [b]falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition), Who opposes and exalts himself so proudly and insolently against and over all that is called God or that is worshiped, [even to his actually] taking his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God." 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

This passage is quite clear that the rapture cannot occur until the Antichrist is revealed, which will happen at the midpoint of the Tribulation! [28]

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and [a]beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory [in brilliancy and splendor]. And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect (His chosen ones) from the four winds, [even] from one end of the [b]universe to the other." Matthew 24:29-31

This passage is quite clear that the rapture of believers will not occur until Jesus' 2nd coming, with a loud trumpet call. It is also clear that these cosmic signs (sun & moon darkened & stars falling from the sky) correspond with the 6th Seal Judgement in Revelation 6 which occurs during the second half of the Tribulation). [29]

"Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed). In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed)." 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

This passage of Scripture is also quite clear. The rapture of believers (along with receiving resurrection bodies) occurs at the last trumpet. The only trumpets mentioned in Scripture are during the 2nd half of the Tribulation (Revelation 8-9). [30]

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!" 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Again, it is clear that Scripture equates the rapture of believers with a loud trumpet call which, according to Scripture, can only occur sometime after the midpoint of the Tribulation. [31]

The Return of Jesus

But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:36

Acts 1:6-11

So when they were assembled, they asked Him, Lord, is this the time when You will reestablish the kingdom and restore it to Israel? He said to them, It is not for you to become acquainted with and know [b]what time brings [the things and events of time and their definite periods] or fixed [c]years and seasons (their critical niche in time), which the Father has appointed (fixed and reserved) by His own choice and authority and personal power. But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth. And when He had said this, even as they were looking [at Him], He was caught up, and a cloud received and carried Him away out of their sight. And while they were gazing intently into heaven as He went, behold, two men [dressed] in white robes suddenly stood beside them, Who said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was caught away and lifted up from among you into heaven, will return in [just] the same way in which you saw Him go into heaven.

John 14:1-4

DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me. In My Father's house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.

Mat 24:29-31

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and [a]beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory [in brilliancy and splendor]. And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect (His chosen ones) from the four winds, [even] from one end of the [b]universe to the other.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Resurrection

John 5:25-29

Believe Me when I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the time is coming and is here now when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear it shall live. For even as the Father has life in Himself and is self-existent, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself and be self-existent. And He has given Him authority and granted Him power to execute (exercise, practice) judgment because He is [a]a Son of man [very man]. Do not be surprised and wonder at this, for the time is coming when all those who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, And they shall come out--those who have practiced doing good [will come out] to the resurrection of [new] life, and those who have done evil will be raised for judgment [raised to meet their sentence].

Mark 12:18-27

And [some] Sadducees came to Him, [of that party] who say there is no resurrection, and they asked Him a question, saying,Teacher, Moses gave us [a law] that if a man’s brother died, leaving a wife but no child, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were seven brothers; the first one took a wife and died, leaving no children. And the second [brother] married her, and died, leaving no children; and the third did the same; And all seven, leaving no children. Last of all, the woman died also. Now in the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For the seven were married to her. Jesus said to them, Is not this where you wander out of the way and go wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they arise from among the dead, [men] do not marry nor are [women] given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven. But concerning the dead being raised—have you not read in the book of Moses, [in the passage] about the [burning] bush, how God said to him, I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of [the] dead, but of [the] living! You are very wrong.

Luke 14:12-14

Jesus also said to the man who had invited Him, When you give a dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, lest perhaps they also invite you in return, and so you are paid back. But when you give a banquet or a reception, invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind. Then you will be blessed (happy, fortunate, and [a]to be envied), because they have no way of repaying you, and you will be recompensed at the resurrection of the just (upright).

Acts 4:2

Being vexed and indignant through and through because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in [the case of] Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Acts 17:18

And some also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him and began to engage in discussion. And some said, What is this babbler with his scrap-heap learning trying to say? Others said, He seems to be an announcer of foreign deities—because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.

Acts 17:29-32

Since then we are God’s offspring, we ought not to suppose that Deity (the Godhead) is like gold or silver or stone, [of the nature of] a representation by human art and imagination, or anything constructed or invented. Such [former] ages of ignorance God, it is true, ignored and allowed to pass unnoticed; but now He charges all people everywhere to repent ([a]to change their minds for the better and heartily to amend their ways, with abhorrence of their past sins), Because He has fixed a day when He will judge the world righteously (justly) by a Man Whom He has destined and appointed for that task, and He has made this credible and given conviction and assurance and evidence to everyone by raising Him from the dead. Now when they had heard [that there had been] a resurrection from the dead, some scoffed; but others said, We will hear you again about this matter.

Acts 23:6

But Paul, when he perceived that one part of them were Sadducees and the other part Pharisees, cried out to the council (Sanhedrin), Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; it is with regard to the hope and the resurrection of the dead that I am indicted and being judged.

Acts 24:15-16

Having [the same] hope in God which these themselves hold and look for, that there is to be a resurrection both of the righteous and the unrighteous (the just and the unjust). Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men.

Acts 24:21

Unless it be this one sentence which I cried out as I stood among them, In regard to the resurrection of the dead I am indicted and on trial before you this day!

      • To be fulfilled: End Times In Revelation 9:16, the Bible says that an army of 200 million will one day be assembled. This prophecy, obviously, hasn't been fulfilled yet, at least not literally. But, as the world's population rises above 6 billion, it is increasingly possible for a coalition of countries to amass an army of 200 million, and this would have been unthinkable even 100 years ago. Revelation 9:16 The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number. [35]

    • In Revelation 9:14-16, it said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. • The Euphrates River in Iraq is drying up because of upstream dams in Syria and Turkey, adding to a drought that’s lasted two years, the New York Times reported, citing local residents and officials. Rice and wheat fields along the river have turned to parched land and fishing boats sit on dry river and canal beds, the newspaper reported. Older residents say it’s the worst they can remember, the paper said, citing Sayid Diyia, a fisherman who was out of work sitting in a cafe near the river. Iraqi officials blame the Turkish and Syrian governments for policies that have cut flows to Iraq, which has no treaties on water supplies, the paper said. There are at least seven dams on the Euphrates in Iraq’s northern neighbors, it said.

  • Wormwood Star
    • Rev 8:10-11 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

      • Spiritual
        • Bitterness: Number of Bible scholars consider the term Wormwood to be a purely symbolic representation of the bitterness that will fill the earth during troubled times, noting that the plant for which Wormwood is named, Artemisia absinthium, is a known Biblical metaphor for things that are unpalatably bitter[36]
        • A Dictionary of The Holy Bible states, "the star called Wormwood seems to denote a mighty prince, or power of the air, the instrument, in its fall, of sore judgments of large numbers on the wicked ."[37]
          • Stars in the bible relate to angels/fallen angels (see Jude 1:13 "They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever" In this passage the blackest darkness refers to Jude 1:6 "And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day." & 2 Peter 2:4 "For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment"
