Her comment that the volumes had belonged to her famous grandparents was accompanied by her extraordinary interest in discussing all of their fine points. A subsequent visit by her to my home, was abruptly cut short upon her discovery that I was a Christian. It sprung her from her seat without comment and propelled her out of the door, never to be seen by me again. This 'disappearing act' must be hereditary.
